How should I install the Affiliate Program?

We provide the instructions on how to install our H4H Affiliate Program if you decide to buy the self-installed package. The instructions will be included in the package you will be prompted to download straight after you pay us via 2CheckOut.com.

You will need to add a few files in your shop from the package.

Secondly, you will have to put some parts of the code in the other files as we've written in our instructions.

So, if you never changed your osCommerce files by yourself or you have a highly customized shop, the best way for you is to choose the package in which we provide Affiliate Program installed and tested by Help4Hosters.


How should I generate an affiliate link?

1. Log in your affiliate account.

2. Click on the Products Information in the Affiliate Menu.

3. Select the product you need the affiliate link go to.

4. Click on the arrow symbol in the end of the line with product link (the pop-up description will say 'Click to get your HTML affiliate code').

5. You'll get a pop-up window with HTML code. Please, note that you better ask your affiliates to copy the images of the products to their own servers to avoid traffic increase on your server.

This affiliate link will lead directly to the product page in your shop.

Affiliate Program is able to track new customers and new affiliates only through the links which? are generated using it.


Will Affiliate Program affect the site design or content?

Our Affiliate Program doesn't affect? your site content and design.


How does Affiliate Programm work?

Using our Affiliate Program people can advertize your site via theirs (with the aid of banners, links, etc). In case someone will browse to your site from theirs (following the link with personal ID of affiliate) and apply for services - you'll pay the comission to a person (affiliate) who have referred a customer.

Comission could be paid for products bought (percentage of cost or a flat amount), for referred customer/affiliate signup.


How the comissions are calculated?

Comission could be paid for products bought (percentage of cost or a flat amount), for referred customer/affiliate signup which you should configure at your shop. Also you may choose which order gets the comissions: delivered, closed, etc at admin panel.

Commission is paid if:

1) The potential customer clicks (follows) the link which was created using affiliate program

2) He registers a new account in the shop

3) He purchases a product from the shop

4) He purchases a product within 'Time when commission is paid', which is a configuration key and is set up in admin panel

5) You set the 'Order status setup' in the configuration of the affiliate program, to one of the statuses, when the commision is paid

6) When you change the status of order of this customer to the one you've specified in 'Order status setup' the comission is calculated and transferred to affiliate account (You will see the hint about it in orders page)


How to set Affiliate Program properly for multi tiers? How to configure Affiliate Program?

First of all, in admin page using link 'H4H Affiliate program/Configuration' at left-side menu you should set the following options:

[o] Payable Affiliate Referring = if set to 'true', affiliates will recieve payments for new reffered affiliates;
[o] Referred Affiliates Multi-Tier = if set to 'true' - multi-tier system will be turned on and multi-tier affiliates will recieve payments;
[o] Default affiliate group = here you choose a default group for newly sign-up affiliates;
[o] Pay For Customer = if set to 'true' Affiliates will recieve payments for new referred customers;
[o] Pay For Customer Multi-Tier = if set to 'true' Affilates will recieve payments for multi-tier customers registrations;
[o] Time When Commission is Paid = Time, during which customer purchases something and the commision is paid. If this time exceeds, no commision will be paid. Set to '00:00' if no time limit is necessary;
[o] Multi-Tier = if set to 'true' - multi-tier system is turned on, and multi tier commision will be calculated;
[o] Quantity of Levels = Set here a number of levels of multi-tiering. E.g. 4 levels, than affiliates will recieve commisions from up to 4 levels;

Now you need to set up a group for your multi-tiering, or edit an existing one, go to 'H4H Affiliate program/Affiliate Groups', where:

Edit your default group with the following options:
[o] Multi-Tier Que: Set this to [ number of levels ] percent numbers
E.g. 10, 5, 3, 1
for the 4 levels of multi-tiering, where
4 affiliate will receive a set up commission for the definite product
3 affiliate will receive 10% from the 4 Affiliate commission,
2 affiliate will receive 5% from the 3 Affiliate commission,
1 affiliate will receive 3% from the 2 Affiliate commission,
0 affiliate will receive 1% from the 1 Affiliate commission,

i.e. (0 affiliate invited 1 affiliate, which invited 2 affiliate and so on)

If a customer (of the 4 affliate) purchased a products with a price
of $500, 4 affliate will recieve a commision set for this product (e.g.15%=$75)
3 affiliate (which invited 4 aff.) will recieve $7,5 (10% of $75),
2 affiliate (which invited 3 aff.) will recieve $3,75 (5%),
1 affiliate (which invited 2 aff.) will recieve $2,25 (3%),
0 affiliate (which invited 1 aff.) will recieve $0,75 (1%),

And these options:
[o] Group Own Commision = set amount of commision for this group only;
[o] Use own commision = set to 'true' if you wish to use own commision for this group;
[o] Payment for Referred customer = amount of money to pay for reffered customer;
[o] Referred customer multi-tier = same as 'Multi-tier que' but for reffered customers;
[o] Payment for Referred affiliate = amount of money to pay for reffered affiliate;
[o] Referred affiliate multi-tier = same as 'Multi-tier que' but for reffered affiliates.

The next step is to set up a commision for each category and product in your catalog.


Will Affiliate Program have multi-language support?

Affiliate Program is only in english for now. If you wish, you can translate the AP by yourself by editing language files. In affiliates/includes/languages/ there are folders with language names, and files in there. Just translate each file to appropriate language, and you will get it working.


How do I edit information for an existing affiliate?

You can change affiliate's registration info through admin side by pressing the blue arrow at the right column box (which will open the hidden info).


Is there a way to add a new affiliate from the Admin interface?

No, you can only sign up as a new affiliate. There is no way to create new affiliate from shop admin.


Which format the banners should be?

Banner might be gif, jpg or flash files.


What is group own comission?

Group Own commision is set in 'Affiliate groups' and it means that current group uses one commision (group own comission) for ALL products and categories.

E.g. If you set 15% comission for some category, and then set group own commission to 20% for special group, the commision for this group for this category will be 20%, but for others (not in this group) it will be 15%.


If 'use own comission' is set to false, does that mean that whatever value set at group own comission is ignored?

Yes, if use own comission is set to false the group own comission is ignored for this group.


What does the payment for reffered customer mean?

Referred customer means the customer who was reffered by the affiliate link and have registered a new account and bought a product within 'Time when commission is paid', which is set up in configuration.


If all I want is no muli-tiering, no referral structure, just plain and simple. What settings do I need to put?

You need to set 'Multi-tier' to 'false' in configuration and you have 2 ways:

1) Set up a group own comission to 20% for the group your affiliates will join, set 'use own comission' to 'true', and then all the products and categories will have a 20% commission ignoring manual commissions entered;

2) Set 'use own comission' to 'false', and set up each products and categories commissions manually if you need different commissions for different products.
